Qualifying Formats and Dates

Regional Qualifying for The 152nd Open at Royal Troon took place at 15 venues throughout Great Britain. Final Qualifying will be played at 12 venues throughout Great Britain and Ireland on Monday 29 May 2023.

Qualifying Formats

Players can qualify for The Open in four ways: *

1. An exemption via the Open Qualifying Series (OQS)
2. Via local qualifying
3. If the field size has increased to 156
or
4. By winning a qualifying event

Past Performances

The 151st Open Championship was played at Royal Liverpool and saw Cameron Smith claim The Claret Jug. The 150th Open was played at St Andrews and saw Collin Morikawa claim The Claret Jug.
